Jun's name is just Jun. In Japan, this is often a boy's name. Junko is more common for girls. But, we don't seem to be a family that takes the route others take for granted, so Jun is Jun, for many great reasons.
Jun has been befriending folks in our neighborhood of all ages. When she was a tiny girl, we met an older woman, named Junko! She has enjoyed watching Jun grow up into a big girl. We often run into each other on the street and chat a bit.
Yesterday we ran into each other again and I asked how her husband was doing. He is 92, and she is 73 or so. She is so tired from taking care of him. So we talked about what an awesome wife she must be if her husband is still going strong at 92!
Then she mentioned her own tiredness and stress. She said something about God showing her an image of the cross and she felt it indicated she was going to be going home to heaven soon. When she mentioned the cross, our conversation got so much deeper. We both shared the peace we have believing in a God who hears and answers our prayers and takes care of us. She is a Catholic Christian and it was so wonderful to share with a sister whom we just met by "accident", which I don't believe for a minute! I am sure God put us together to encourage each other!
